VietHope Alumni Reunion 2025: The Journey Home

On the evening of July 6, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, the VietHope Alumni Reunion 2025 truly became a “sky full of emotions,” where more than 60 VietHope alumni from generations F1 to F11 and long-time volunteers came “home” together, sharing heartfelt stories and rekindling the flame of connection and belonging. The event was not just a gathering but a testament to VietHope’s enduring value: “Together, we continue the journey of nurturing dreams for Vietnam’s youth.”

Who could forget the laughter filling the room when everyone shouted “VietHope!” after each exciting round of BINGO? Or the moving moment when Ms. Minh Phương (Donor Relations Manager)—a mentor who has guided countless generations—shared her simple yet profound words: “I don’t wish for you to become someone powerful or famous—though if you do, I’ll be happy for you. What I truly wish is that you always stay peaceful and walk firmly on your own path.”

That evening, VietHope Alumni Reunion 2025 took place in an atmosphere so warm and genuine that every barrier seemed to disappear. Mr. Phong Nguyễn, one of the earliest companions of VietHope, led everyone back to the organization’s humble beginnings. He spoke of the early days and how the spirit of “connection – sharing – companionship” was formed and strengthened within the VietHope community. His stories were not only personal memories but also affirmations that, though time passes, those foundational values remain unchanged—a compass guiding all of VietHope’s work.

Continuing that flow of emotion, Ms. Hà Huỳnh, Executive Director, shared: “VietHope treasures the bond between generations of alumni, for it is this connection that builds a sustainable community.” This bond has turned VietHope into a true home—where senior alumni willingly extend a helping hand, sharing experience and support with younger members on their paths of growth.

Mr. Đông Lê, Program Director, also offered profound insights into the importance of alumni returning to contribute, as he presented VietHope’s upcoming plans and directions. He emphasized: “The ones who understand the journey best are those who have walked it.” This holds especially true for VietHope—today’s students were once the “new stars” just like their predecessors.

The lived experiences and timely advice from alumni become invaluable sources of guidance and inspiration, empowering younger generations to walk with confidence. By returning to support VietHope, alumni not only contribute to a sustainable community but also grow through the act of giving—learning to listen, to share, and to spread positive values.

When a video message from Ms. Quang Trần, VietHope Board Member, was played, the room grew quiet. Smiles and teary eyes filled the space as each scene rekindled beautiful memories and genuine emotions.

In her message, Ms. Quang reminded everyone that not only journeys outward bring discovery—but returning home does too. Reconnecting with fellow alumni, reliving moments from programs like Summit, USP, or Merit, was more than nostalgia—it continued VietHope’s mission: to ignite hope and accompany underprivileged Vietnamese youth, ensuring they never feel alone on their journey.

She concluded with a simple but touching wish: “May your journeys outward be full of joy and discovery, and may your returns be filled with happiness—because VietHope will always be home.” That message perfectly captured VietHope’s spirit: the freedom to explore the world, and the comfort of always having a warm home to return to.

Whether introverted or passionate, wherever life has taken each person, VietHope remains—a quiet yet steadfast home—always ready to open its arms and welcome every alumnus and volunteer back.

VietHope stars: Shining in their own way

At VietHope Alumni Reunion 2025, four representatives from different generations—Ms. Minh Phương (Donor Relations Manager), Mr. Quang Dương (Board Member, Senior Engineering Manager at Google Health), Mr. Nguyễn Thắng (Alumni F3, Founder of MamXanhDigital), and Ms. Ngọc Trân (Alumni F11, Account Manager at Digital Transformation & Integration Solutions JSC)—came together to share untold stories. Though their paths differ, each carries a unique light: quiet resilience, a passion for education, the spirit of giving, and the enthusiasm of youth returning to give back.

For Mr. Thắng, the journey from scholarship recipient to mentor is his way of “giving back what was once given.” Meanwhile, Ms. Trân, representing the younger generation, brings innovation and the drive to nurture personal growth among today’s students.

No matter who they are, what they do, or where they are now—each person who has ever been part of VietHope remains an irreplaceable “star” in this shared sky, where every light is celebrated and every return is cherished.

After the reflective sharing, the reunion continued with an open, joyful exchange.
